Our Commitment
to You
A safe, inclusive, and well-run club. Here's how we make it happen.
Building a Club We're All Proud Of
Strathmore Netball Club is committed to providing a positive experience for every player, parent, coach, and volunteer. We aim to operate in accordance with Netball Victoria's policies and guidelines, and have our own club procedures to ensure everyone knows what to expect, and what's expected of them.
Below is a summary of our key policy areas. Full documentation is available on request from the club.
Fair Play & Codes of Conduct
Strathmore Netball's approach to Netball governance aligns with Netball Victoria's Fair Play Code, which sets clear expectations for behaviour both on and off the court. This applies to everyone involved in our club from players, parents, spectators, coaches, umpires, and committee members.
Our club's core values
Safety

Respect

Responsibility

Integrity

Fairness

In short, we play fair, we support each other, we respect officials, and we remember that netball is about enjoyment and development, not only winning at all costs.
Child Safety & Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority. We aim to comply with Victoria's Child Safe Standards and Netball Victoria's Child Safety in Netball Policy.
This means:
-
We have a nominated Club Child Safety Officer who oversees our safeguarding practices and is your first point of contact for any concerns
-
All coaches and volunteers in child-related roles hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
-
We maintain a register of all WWCC holders within the club
-
We have clear processes for reporting and responding to any concerns
-
We foster a culture where children feel safe, respected, and empowered
If you ever have a concern about a child's safety or wellbeing, please speak to a club committee member immediately or contact Netball Victoria directly.
Health & Safety
We take player health seriously and work to follow Netball Victoria's guidelines on:
-
Concussion: Any player with a suspected concussion must leave the court immediately and follow the return-to-play protocol before resuming
-
Injury Reporting: All injuries are documented and reported in accordance with our insurance and duty of care obligations
-
Weather: We follow guidelines for extreme heat and wet weather to ensure player safety
-
First Aid: Trained personnel and first aid supplies are available at training and games
What does this mean? Safety isn't an afterthought. It's built into everything we do, from training to game day.
Member Protection & Inclusion
Strathmore Netball Club welcomes everyone. We are committed to providing an environment free from harassment, discrimination, and bullying, regardless of age, ability, gender, cultural background, or experience level.
We aim to align with Netball Victoria's Member Protection and Inclusion Policies, which cover:
-
Anti-discrimination and equal opportunity
-
Prevention of harassment and bullying
-
Gender diverse and inclusion guidelines
-
Respectful use of social media and online communication
Put simply, everyone deserves to feel welcome, respected, and safe, regardless of age, ability, background, or experience level. This is what we stand for.
Club Operations
We have clear procedures in place to ensure the club runs smoothly and fairly. These cover:
-
Registration & Fees: How to register, what's included, and our refund policy
-
Team Selection & Grading: How teams are formed based on age and ability
-
Complaints & Disputes: How to raise a concern and how it will be handled
-
Volunteer Expectations: What we ask of parents and volunteers who support the club
-
Communication: How and when we'll communicate with you
The bottom line: clear processes mean fewer surprises. You will know how registration works, how teams are formed, and who to contact if you feel something's not right.
